The First Week Numbers for Beyoncé's 'LEMONADE' Are In

It's official. According to Billboard, with 576,000 equivalent units sold in the week ending on April 28, LEMONADE has officially become Beyoncé's sixth consecutive No. 1 album. Of that number, almost half a million came from pure album sales. For at least this week, Beyoncé has managed to register the highest number of sales out of any records released thus far in 2016.

FOLLOW US ON TIWTTER It's an incredible milestone for Beyoncé as she becomes the only act to reach No. 1 with their first six studio efforts. What's more, she's also the only act to debut atop the list with their first six as well, a mark that looks almost impossible for anyone else to match in the foreseeable future. Her reign at the top looks to be short-lived however due to the monster success of Drake's album VIEWS which, thanks to a few rule tweaks from the RIAA, is poised to sell somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,000,000 copies in its first week.

Rounding out the rest of the charts this week was Prince who notched five albums overall in the top-7 coming in the wake of his unexpected death on April 21. His compilation album The Very Best of Prince nabbed the No. 2 slot with 216,000 copies sold, while the singer's 1984 blockbuster Purple Rain came in at No. 3 with 150,000. FOLLOW US ON TIWTTER
