And even though those cute and cozy little apartments on the Internet look wonderful, in reality people have their belongings and use them and they have to keep them in their small apartments. These are a few tips that would help you decorate, paint, organize and make your small space visually larger.
1Multi-purpose
When comes to small spaces, it is a rule that everything has to have a double purpose. For e.g. the dresser might also be your TV stand and your stairs can be also drawers. Having furniture that transforms from one thing to another is one of the best ways to get maximum value with a minimal footprint.
It’s about vertical thinking
This way you will create more space. Putting shelves stretched over doors and up to the ceiling or loft-like beds that are elevated, this way you are making space and you are letting your small home breathe. This is also a smart way to draw the eye upward to create the illusion of volume.
Storage options
If closet space is at a premium, there are other ways to accommodate your stuff. Choose furniture pieces that can double as storage. Even something as simple as wrapping your sofa in bookcases can make a great use of space, providing end tables, shelving, display areas and a defined space all in one shot. Also look for space helpers that pack a lot of punch in a very small footprint.
Hide your things
Concealed beds, whether in a wall or elsewhere, are a great way a room can serve two purposes: bedroom by night; living space by day.
It’s about the looks
The fewer things you have in your place the bigger the space will seem. Clear glass or acrylic furniture lets you see through them, minimizing visual clutter and keeping a room airy. Mirrors are another great way to give the illusion of more space.

If you are living in an open-plan condo where the main living space serves several functions consider yourself for a lucky person. White is not always right

The middle section should constitute 50% of the wall and the two side panels should be 25% each. Mirrors are elegant wall decoration and they always double the room visually. In extremely small rooms (like bathrooms) you can put as much mirrors as you want, of course avoid the ceiling.
Kitchen organization
In a narrow kitchen, have only the necessary cupboards. Get rid of stuff. Choose one set of dishes for all occasions, one pan or pot, and one set of glasses for everything (seems hard, but this way you will avoid cluttering which will only cause suffocating of your small space). Live only with what you use daily.
