Model muse Cheyenne Tozzi has posed inside Paddington’s new Parlour X boutique at the St John’s Church development.
After months of planning, the Gothic space has been given a retail makeover complete with a cube iGuzzini light installation and creative hub upstairs for the online business.
Oxford St has been through some tough times over the past few years, the result of two major shopping malls opening at each end of the street, but the new boutique is expected to bring a new wave of fashion fans into the area.
The model-turned-singer loves to shop and says the store’s new range of international and local brands are practically custom-made for bohemian spirits.
“The new location is fantastic and people will love coming here,” Tozzi said. “I love the edit.”
With more than 25 collections on offer, there is something for everyone and all budgets.
Some of the most popular brands, such as Isabel Marant and Cecilie Copenhagen, have separates that start at $95. With a new album to be released soon, Tozzi says she is a fan of high-end labels that stand the test of time.
To prepare for opening day, director and buyer Eva Galambos doubled orders to fill the heritage-listed property, which is three times bigger than her previous location at Five Ways.
This month she will unveil collaborations with local designers Kym Ellery and Toni Maticevski. Ten-piece capsules that emulate the themes and fabrications from existing collections will be launched.
“It’s our way of celebrating Australian designs. For Kym’s line we changed silhouettes and for Toni we changed fabric but kept silhouette. Romance Was Born and Christopher Esber are also on my radar,” Galambos says.
