The best Game of Thrones news ever, popular TV series to get at least eight seasons

GAME of Thrones fans, brace yourselves: The fantasy saga’s end is perhaps just a few years away. HBO programming chief Michael Lombardo has revealed the producers of the hit drama series are leaning toward three more seasons, including Season 6, which is currently filming.
“[The showrunners] feel like there’s two more years after six,” Lombardo told the Television Critics Association today.

“I would always love for them to change their minds, but that’s what were looking at right now.” While talk of the end might get Game of Thrones fans in hysterics, there is some good news.
Lombardo believes there’s “enormous storytelling to be mined” to make spin offs and prequels, meaning the Thrones’ world could be kept alive.
Lombardo also weighed in on the Jon Snow controversy, and shut down any rumours of the characters’ return.

“Everything I’ve seen, heard and read, Jon Snow is indeed dead,” he said.
Actor Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow was recently spotted in Belfast, where Game of Thrones is shot, adding to speculation he will be appearing in the new season some way or another.
The news comes as Game of Thrones director David Nutter was recently grilled by US President Barack Obama over the shock death of Jon Snow.
Nutter directed the key episode and has now revealed he was subsequently interrogated by Game of Thrones fan Obama.

“Three weeks ago, I was the in the company of the President of the United States. He turned to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, ‘You didn’t kill Jon Snow did you?’” Nutter told Entertainment Weekly.
“I said, ‘Jon Snow is deader than dead.’ I thought I was going to be sent to Guantanamo or something, but fortunately I’m here — but he’s dead,” he said of his meeting with Obama.
