First impressions count as mystery contestant takes Bachelor’s breath away

Down-to-earth Sam Wood was blown away by an explosive first meeting.
A FIRST look at the moment Australia’s new Bachelor met this season’s bevy of beauties suggests he may have spotted his perfect woman straight away.
“One girl will make an impression that will leave Sam begging for more,” says the voiceover as we see Sam Wood greeting the contestants vying for his heart, and gazing longingly after a mysterious woman in a slinky, full-length white dress.
Ten’s intriguing sneak peek of 2015’s The Bachelor reveals the girls’ different methods of trying to convince the Tassie-born gym-owner that they are The One.
One contestant in a black gown makes the 34-year-old laugh awkwardly as she shimmies and says, “Hello Mr Bachelor,” before throwing open her arms and demanding a hug.
A girl in a short white dress flashes her underwear while performing a flirty flamenco dance, while others try to win him over with a gimmick. One brings a Polaroid camera to snap a selfie of the pair, another makes an impressive rose out of two balloons, while a third brings two bottles of beer for them to enjoy.

“First impressions are everything,” warns the teaser for the upcoming series of the dramatic reality show, before showing us a blonde “come on strong” by telling Sam she definitely wants kids, and asking if he does too.
The personal trainer, now based in Melbourne, runs a children’s health and fitness company and has said he is looking for the love of his life — but wants a woman he can have fun with, too.
Bachelor host Osher Günsberg has described Sam as “the kind of guy any man would want to be mates with”, and he has already been compared to Australia’s first Bachelor, Tim Robards, who won over the nation with his endearing personality.

It looks like producers might be trying to replicate the success of the first series after last season’s controversial result.
Sam has admitted he is nervous, saying this is “by far the craziest thing I’ve ever done for love”, and adding that he’s “just a laid-back, regular Aussie guy, just looking for what everyone wants — real love.”
The latest clip is the most revealing so far, and will certainly get viewers talking about the best way to make a great first impression on a potential partner.
But of course, no matter how flawless your first-date behaviour, it all comes down to having that elusive spark.
Ten’s new season of The Bachelor starts soon.
