The fairy tale is over for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner .
"After much thought and many considerations, we made the difficult decision to divorce", said the former lovebirds through their press officer in a press release sent to E! News Tuesday. "We will continue to love us, to remain friends and share custody of our children we ask you to respect privacy during this difficult time."
The Oscar-winning director of 42 years and actress of 43 years celebrated their 10 year anniversary Monday. However, a source close told E! News that the couple had been living separately and they lived in hotels for 10 months to try a separation.
This announcement confirms the rumors for some time. A moving truck was even spotted the couple's home in Brentwood, there are few days running the divorce rumors. In May, Garner and Affleck were shown together in public although their separation already seemed eminent.

After the 2013 Oscars, in which Affleck won a statuette for Argo , the actor was forced to defend his acceptance speech, in which he used the word "work" to describe her marriage.
